I thought it was very well-written and the photographs chosen from reader submissions were WONDERFUL :clap

I sent in responses to the questions along w/ 2 photos of my little Beetle. I had NO idea that I was going to be included; the author just asked me to resize the photos for her.

It's a really interesting article. It shares her experiences with lovebirds along with BT readers' experiences, along with a nice mix of reader-submitted photos and some stock photos.

Other folks from lovebirdsplus are represented, too -- I'll let them speak up for themselves ;)

I just got the issue today so I'd imagine that you'll be receiving yours shortly :)

I'll admit: I cried for a good hour but it was a good cry. Beetle was such an amazing companion and it means so much to me that I got to share a little bit about him with the world!

Ohhhhh, I can't wait to get mine! Even if Pip didn't make in, or if he did, I don't know, but it's really wonderful that a special little Beetle lovie was included! If Pip didn't make it in this time.......he has lots of time left to keep trying!! Lovies get such a bad rap sometimes.....I hear how mean they can be, attack and kill other birds......but my little Pip doesn't have a mean bone in his body! Yes, he has bitten! but he doesn't make it a habit and I know it's not something he does to be mean.....he is a cute little stinker, smart and very lovable. I never planned on having a lovie.....Pip just kinda came along and taught me what lovies are all about.....I would have missed out on alot if things didn't work out the way they did......yes, he's a little handful! and a stinker! bold, brave, and mischievous! Can't trust him....gotta watch him! don't touch him or hold him! he is something else! but I'm so glad that I have him!
Congrats Eliza.....so glad to hear that Beetle made it in! and also that others have from here too.....lovies deserves to have the good things about them shown off instead of always hearing the bad!

I just got my issue of Birdtalk and see that I made it in, but Pip didn't! :( guess my pics weren't big enough. They did use my answers to the questions I see......really cute pic of Beetle by the way! I'm really glad that his pic made it in. I was thinking too that lemonypicket hasn't been around lately.....her pic of Eddie was really great, the one next to the roses....that one might might have made it in, it was nice and big and closeup....wonder where laura and eddie have been hiding???
Oh well......guess I better get my camera out and try to get better pics for next time!

It was an interesting article and kind of surprising to me since I didn't realize lovies had such a bad rap in the parrot world! Having no pet bird experience other than lovebirds, and having three that are perfectly charming (:D) I have always thought they are a great choice when choosing a smaller parrot. :)

I just received my copy of Bird Talk and loved the photos! How nice to see a great article on my favorite birds and to see the great pictures from Lovebirds Plus members!!! I think it is so neat!!!

Thanks for thinking of me and Eddie. Sorry I have not been around. I bought this house and I have gutted the second floor. What a mess! I have no life for anything besides home renovation web searches lately. Eddie is well, he is staying a mile down the road (with the BF) from me since Wednesday because I am in the process of moving. He can't go to the new house with all the hammering going on! Funny how empty the house feels without him in it!

Just had to say:

I just picked up this issue today at Barnes and Noble, and tonight I opened it up to show Odie. Well, he's decided that he is in love with Fenway! He went bonkers over the pic of Fenway in the hut, and made sounds I've never heard before!

Not only that, but the clever bird seemed to be trying to figure out where these birds were hiding. He kept trying to grab the edges of the magazine, and I worried he was going to chew it up, so I kept dissuading him. But he was so determined (and he usually doesn't get excited over paper), that I decided to see what he was so worked up over. Instead of chewing the paper, he would just carefully turn the page and look behind it! Then he would proceed to grab the next page, and do the same thing! Then he kept trying to get up on top of the magazine, so I finally let him, only to have him look behind the magazine!

"But, Ma, where are the birdies hiding? I wanna play! Make them come out and play with me! Please?"

i was amazed when i saw Giggles on page 40 on the bottom left. Jessica accidentally put giggles name is shrini. lol. Oh well. At least he is in the magazine. Love all the birds. I keep reading it over and over again. :)

I just got the magazine a couple of days ago. I had the pet store reserve a copy and call me when it was in! 8o I was so excited to see birds and people I "know" in it! Congrats to all who made it in. It was a very good article. :)

I saw a glimpse of it! Our magazine rep tends to be really late when it comes to putting up magazines at work, so I am likely going to Barnes and Noble today. I'm so happy!
