Looking for a male fischer lime factor...I found a female in Califorina and was afraid to buy a male from the same breeder..I'm so worried about inbreeding..does anyone breed Lime factor fischer's..or maybe Fallow ....any-hoo here is what my gal looks like...whatever her true color name may be...

Thank You...I have her in a cage by herself and she is just to wild to handle...I hate that she is by herself and I don't want to breed any other color but hers...It would be so nice if she wasn't alone and I got babies I could feed and play with....:)

Marla,
If you can't find another Fischer's like her, my next suggestion is to get a male Green Fischer's. All babies will be split for her coloring. While I usually don't suggest breeding siblings together, this would be one time where you may have to do it in order to get what you are looking for. I've never had any problems breeding first generation down from 2 unrelated birds and all offspring are outcrossed to unrelated mates. That would give you time to look for what you want and you could take the male, when you find him and breed him to one of the offspring you get from the pair you are trying to create right now, if that makes any sense.

Linda,
I did think of that but I really want to keep my number of birds down to just a few...Raising babies and taming them is what I love, and then seeing the face of the person who will be taking their new family member home is priceless...I can't spend time with the young if I have too many...I love this color because I don't see it around and thought it would be easier to place the young if people fell in love with the color like I did...Of course I could change my mind down the road..I'm good at that..lol..

I know. That's why I wrote Pineapple with a capital, because it's a name... :)
But if that post wasn't directed at me, disregard. Hehe.

ohhh, I love Fischer's. I didn't at first til I saw YouTube videos of them and boy are they cute. It's so tempting cuz the girl I get my birds from have Fischer babies on the way. And I want one sooooo bad!!! You have no idea. "Must stop at two birds" is my new mantra. Haha, Lemonypickett, I can see why you're always on craigs list looking at birds cuz I am too.

Well stopping at 2 is a good idea..I tried but now I have like 30..lol..and out of all of them I think my lovies are the dearest to my heart..sshhh my cockatoo listens to everything I say..lol..Even as a breeding pair my lovies come right to me and give kisses...
I just wanted to be sure no one thought Pineapple was the color name that was reading the post..sorry
