One day I was getting home from school on a very rainy and stormy day. There was thunder and lightning and all the birds seemed to be out and having fun in the rain. I looked towards the fence that devides the community from the wildlife and river. Then I noticed a bird that looked nothing like a crow or anything sitting on the fence. I then came closer, hoping to not scare the bird away and that's when I noticed it was a cockatiel! It was just chirping and hanging out with the other birds! I was in shock and questioned if cockatiels where noramally flying in the wild in California. Then I thought the bird probably flew away from it's home. It was a very beautiful bird but I couldn't catch him/her. He/She flew away with it's new flock of wild birdy friends. Hopefully he/she didn't get eaten by a hawk! Has anyone had an experience like this happen before? I would love to hear your story! :)

There are many feral parrots in various locations across the United States. Phoenix, AZ has feral lovebirds. CT has colonies of Quaker Parrots. While I've never seen any feral Tiels here in FL, I'm sure there are some that have learned to survive in the wild.

Have you seen the movie "The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill"?
