Hi Everyone,
I really hope it will not come to this, but I am considering taking my lovebird to a shelter soon. I really really really am done with owning a lovebird.

I have a 7 year old Dutch Blue, named B.B. who needs a caring loving owner and a great forever home.

Can anyone help me? He really is a very absorbing pet, he likes to be petted, give and receive love, he'll take bathes in your hands! The problem for me is, I don't have the time, energy, resources to give him what he needs. I am his foster parent, I never intended to own him, but his previous owner will not entertain the idea of caring for a bird anymore.

Please, someone has to be out there who maybe has another lonely single bird who needs a mate? B.B. would be a great love for another peachface.

I'm getting desperate, I just moved into a small apartment and I'm trying to find a job, I really can't handle the distraction anymore.

I don't want to have to give him to a shelter, he has been a great companion, and it is breaking my heart to do this but I'm not cut out for owning a lovebird, just being honest. :x

Can anyone help?

Angela

Angela, I am sorry. I know you've tried to re-home him for a long time and you've done your best as a foster parent. Don't beat yourself up, you have tried and at the very least you took him to foster when his former owner didn't want him anymore. Good luck and keep us posted. Maybe someone close by will read your plea and make room for one more.

I was reading about BB and was wondering if anyone on here has ever helped with transportation in rehoming a lovebird? I am looking to adopt another lovebird but am in Florence, Alabama which is about 10-11 hours away.

I have a new bigger cage coming for my lovebird Jackson and it's big enough for him to have a friend enjoy it with him. Your BB sounds so sweet and loving. Just a thought to maybe rehome your sweetie with me.

awww, I really hope things work out for this little guy. I would take him in a second if I could. Maybe someone can help Brittbritt w/ transporting the fella. Are you looking to have him shipped? Or no? I don't know about shipping and how that works. My boyfriend gets his racing homers shipped to him and he never has any issues, but I don't know since the weather is cold now (if weather even plays a role) and lovebirds and pigeons are different.
