Any idea when you will have your lovebird?

Where do I find the stuff for new owners?
Hi Rebecca and welcome to the board!
There are a bunch of articles in the section titled "Your Attention Please." I'd start with "Must Read Articles for Every Bird Owner" and go from there.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask. :) Do you know what kind of lovebird you are going to be getting?

Hi Rebecca,
Welcome to the board. I know you have to excited at the prospect of your new little coming home, and I'm glad you have found us. There is tons of information here that you just can't find in a book,so look around and soak it up. I imagine most of us never knew what all the care of a lovie entailed, and I for one among others are very thankful for this board.
In the "Your Attention Please" section, you will find Robin's new owners guide. That is a very good think to print and keep on hand, as it has lots of care information, and things that are toxic and safe for your lovie.
Let us know when your little one arrives, and of course post us some pics of him/her in the photo forum.

Hi Rebecca!!! Welcome. What color lovie are you getting??? is he/she just being weaned now??? I agree that the new owner's guide that bellarains suggested would be a good start. other than that, just look through the forums and read whatever catches your attention.
i look forward to seeing pics and hearing from you!!

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome.... :p
I've been here a short time, and I will tell you this is a wonderful place with many wonderful people. ;) I haven't read that section yet  but now that I know about it too, I guess I'm going to have to put some time away to sit down a do some serious reading :omg: lol
I've just jumped in and started posting from day one, and it is very easy to jump in and ask questions with this very knowledgeable and understanding group. BTW there is no stupid questions when it comes to our lovies.....and I'm sure you will have a lot of questions when you bring your baby home. My suggestion is (if you are getting your baby from a breeder) to keep an open line of communication with your breeder, and make sure you can talk to them or call them anytime you need too. The Breeder should always be willing to help you with anything that concerns a baby that comes from their Aviary. ;)
I'm looking forward to getting to know you...

Rebecca: Welcome from Hawaii. I currently have 18 lovies and 1 Meyer's Parrot. I'm glad you found your way to the board and you will find lots of great info for your new family member. Please let us know more about your new lovie (where he/she's coming from, what made you decide to get a lovie, etc.). We love hearing about everyone's experiences :) .

Hi Rebecca and welcome! Until Sat. I was the momma to ONE sweet little normal peachface, Oliver. We adopted him a couple of years ago and he's around 8 or 9 years old and the most wonderful little boy! But, on Saturday, I jumped in with both feet and now have two more precious little boys (DNA'ed cause I wanted males). They will be caged together (they're brothers, both hatched in late May) and Oliver will have his own cage and I will continue to be his "one and only!" :D
When I found this board, I didn't know anything about pet birds. I read for days before I even knew what to ask. :lol Now that I've added more lovies and because they are babies and I haven't gone through those stages, I will be reading again! Yep, the "Your Attention" thread is excellent and I will be reading it again....and again....and again!
Glad you found this great forum and I look forward to hearing about your new baby! :)

Thanks to all who have introduced themselves...I will try to answer a few questions that I saw repy to me...
Ok, I believe he is going to be like a dutch blue, he is gorgeous!!!..... I dont have any names yet, and am having a hard time thinking of some!!
I have wanted a bird for a while but did alot of research and decided upon a lovebird because of their reputation. I am getting him from a breeder that is in Troy michigan, which is about and hour from me. She is the one who gave me this website... (maybe because I keep annoying her with questions)... haha just kidding!!
Let's see what else! After we visited my baby for the first time, we fell in love with all the other colors and pretty birds she had, my daughter is already talking about trying to raise one of her own.. I said let's wait and see how this one goes 1st!!
Ok that's about it .. I think!! :) Thanks again! Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
Welcome from Atlanta, Ga! I am owned by three lovies. Molly is a 1 yr old Lutino Peachface, Daisy is a 6 mth old Creamino & Piper is a 3 mth old Pied.
Falling in love with all the different mutations (color patterns) is just the first step to coming to the darkside of birds :lol . I started out with one about a year ago and  now have three and would love to have more  They are the love of my life and I look forward to coming home from work just to be with them.
There's a lot to learn and we are all still learning new things about our babies. You will find so much info here and everyone is very caring & helpful. I found this board the day after I bought Molly - What luck!!
Again, Welcome and see ya around the board! :)

Hi Rebecca,
I'm glad you made it! I'm letting everyone know that your baby is a "very affectionate" Whitefaced Dutch Blue.
He will be fully weaned around the week of August 15 -22nd. Remember you're welcome to come by and play with him when you have the time.
There is another flock member/leader that has one of my babies. Her board name is Sdgilley.
I'm happy you're here!
Talk to you soon,
Egypt/Renee

:lol, when I read that you'd found your baby from a breeder in MI, I thought it might be Renee! :D Yep, it is! :) One of our moderators, Suzanne, has a very special lovie, Peepo, and that is also one of Renee's babies! Congratulations! :)
