I just wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU to all wh are here! You have all been so very pleasant and I just love this board!
I joined another board as well, and put up pics of my new p'let's, only to be put down immediately with a comment that stated my cage looked TOO SMALL for ONE, let alone TWO! How in the world does one say that from looking at the birds, who are at the end of the cage in a picture??? They have a wonderful cage with lots of toys and room! SHEEESH! I don't think that I will go back there again.
Anyway, thanks to each and every one of you. All people on this board are the absolute GREATEST! :grouphug:

The major difference between this community and others is that we are about information and learning. No one learns through negative criticism and I won't tolerate it here. We don't have to agree on everything but at least keep the conversation intelligent!

Hi Spiritwolf--
I remember seeing that post, but don't remember what board it was at...but I too thought it was very rude and wondered how the person could make a judgement when you could only see a portion of the cage.
This is a great forum which is why after my Skittles(lovebird) flew to the Rainbow Bridge, and I got my little Zoe-a parrotlet-we stayed here. We love it here!! And have made some neat friendships. And now...I pretty much have my Zoe convinced she really is a lovebird:rofl:

Agreed--I love having this forum as a resource. Thank you, Linda! I know you put a tremendous amount of time, energy and even money into maintaining this place. Do I remember there is a link for donations lying around for those who are so inclined and can afford it? <hint hint ;)>

Agreed! I left a betta forum, to which I donated a great deal of time and energy, just trying to help out, (it was a very busy forum, with a lot of people new to fish husbandry joining daily and asking urgent questions) because I was tired of being attacked by a few rude fanatics. I'm a very non-confrontational person, and know the difference between constructive criticism (which is always welcomed) and just being plain rude. That board is also famous for jumping down the throats of anyone who is a beginner fish keeper, or a beginning breeder... or just plain new to the forum. It was basically assumed that if you were new, you were housing your fish in tiny tanks, with untreated water, and feeding them only flakes. I was neither, when I joined the forum I had raised thousands of fish from egg to old age, and was still frequently given very incorrect reprimands in a very rude manner. I've found many of the bird sites are similar. I suppose it makes some people feel important to think that they know it all. Here, while everyone is concerned about the health and well being of the birds, it appears to be generally acknowledged that we are all trying to do the right thing and enjoy our fids! This forum is such a wonderful alternative to that other bad business.
