I've currently been reading 'Of Parrots and People: The Sometimes Funny, Always Fascinating, and Often Catastrophic Collision of Two Intelligent Species' by Mira Tweti. It is an amazing book. It has been funny, sad, shocking, and very educational. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has a parrot or is even considering owning a parrot. It has really opened up my eyes and it makes me appreciate the conure that I have even more, she is beyond spoiled; spoiled in my mind now is the least someone can do to give their bird the best life possible:)

Ohhh I am so glad that you liked this book. I want this book so badly, but it is over $25 at Borders! Now, I really need to start looking for it at a cheaper price since I know of someone else who liked it :)

On Amazon there are some good prices. I was able to get it at my library, I was on the waiting list for it for 4 months before it got into the system. Worth the wait!

On Amazon you get books for a good price used and they are like new. That is what I do. Here it is on ebay for just over 12 dollars.........http://cgi.ebay.com/Of-Parrots-and-People-The-Sometimes-Funny-Always-BOOK_W0QQitemZ250335386417QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_No nfiction_Book?hash=item250335386417&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

I saw the book used for .79 with 3.99 shipping. Amazon guarantees the arrival of all their advertised used stuff. In fact, outside of the grocery store Amazon gets most of my money.....I would love to read it but I'm in grad school and have no time to read much outside of school stuff.

I am going to keep my eye out for this one on ebay......I have been doing the same with the book, "Alex & me" and I finally won it today for only $7.24.....not bad! hopefully I can get this book the same way too! Luckily I'm not in a big hurry as I don't really have tons of extra time to read....always busy! I'll get it eventually though!

Ebay has EVERYthing!!!! :nyah: all you have to have is time and patience and what you are looking for will show up on ebay really cheap! Then you just have to luck out and have no other bids or have no one outbid you. Once the price gets past the cheap price, I just bow out and let the next bidder have it and wait unti the next one comes along! It's pretty cool! Just make sure you sign up for paypal.....this way no one ever gets your credit card info, only paypal does and they are very safe!
That $7.24 I got that book for includes the shipping by the way!

You can try half.com too. Their book prices are great and it is all through ebay. I buy all my books and cds from half.com. I've gotten some really great deals. Sometimes you can't find what you want on there, that is when I go to amazon and buy used. I've almost always found what I'm looking for on amazon.
