oooh! what a good fidma you are! it's heard to let a lovie go. Is there no way Beeper can go with you? Are you dorming? the dorm absolutely doesn't allow small pets?
I'm sorry you have to separate from Beeper, I hope rehoming goes well.

Awww, ten years is such a long time! It's too bad your family can't take care of him for you, or someone in your family can't care for him until you are done with school. I have a peachie boy and I could never imagine having to part with him. Best of luck to you that you can find him a good home with alot of love and that he does ok with the change after ten years of being in the same home.

Hmmmm....maybe we could work something out. I'm in Monterey County. Perhaps you could long-term board Beeper with me & collect him on vacations? We could meet half way? I assume he's vet checked and all. PM me & we can discuss it.

That's a very generous offer, Bubblelady, and Beeper could not be in better hands than those capable ones that belong to you! This is an option well worth considering.
I am again awed by the generosity and kindness of the people on this board.

thats very sweet of you! thank you for the offer but it looks like my mom may be able to keep him! i really appreciate all of the warm wishes that every body has sent me. i have found, since i became a mother to a little feathered man, that all the fellow bird lovers i met were a special breed of people-compassionate, loving, and generous. thank you all!

I'm so very glad to hear that your mother will be able to keep Beeper! That's the best option, as he's used to living with your family and that's probably where he will be the happiest!
By all means, please don't be a stranger here! We would love to hear about Beeper and how he's doing! :)

I have found the same to be true! So glad that your little Beeper will be able to stay with your family......he's getting older now and after ten years of having your family as his flock.....he's probably alot better off staying with his familiar people.

Awww, I sure do hope something (good) works out for your little boy. Bubblelady would be a wonderful place for him, fingers crossed!
The reason I found my first lovie, Oliver, was when he former owner was starting college and in her case her parents didn't want him. She is now in her second year of med school and lucky me, 6 years later, I've still got him!

Thank all of you once again for all of your warm wishes. Sadly, Beepers best friend and my little baby love, a parakeet named Banana Bert, the one who i mentioned wasnt doing so well, has passed on (he was 14). I will be leaving soon and poor little Bee is terribly lonely. If anyone has a lonely parakeet or peach face (beeper isnt nice to other kinds of lovebirds) and they live in my area, ventura or los angeles county (california), i would be more than happy to take them into my home. My family spoils our animals so rest assured that you feathery friend would be in loving and attentive hands. Thanks again. My email is cherrylmnade@aol.com.
