My dad told me yesterday about seeing a bird on the golfcourse when he was golfing with a friend. He said it was BRIGHT yellow with a red face and about the size of Junior (my lovebird). He told me it looked like it was someone's pet and he tried to Catch it but it wouldn't go to him. Later, I look up on the internet what a yellow lovebird looked like and it was beautiful! It fit the description that he gave and now I want a yellow lovebird. I wonder if I can find a breeder here though. I've tried many times to find one but I can't. Anyone know any Lovebird breeders in California? :confused:

Maybe you should look to see if anyone is missing a yellow lovebird in your area?.....at least you could tell them where he was sited. I love the yellow with the red face as well! The contrasting colors are beautiful, so bright and colorful!

lost birdies must really love golf courses. we had a parakeet waddle into our shop last week. the girl on duty at the time caught it and called our manager, who already has 2 other parakeets and she took the poor little dirty girl in. she says the bird is such a joy, does tricks, sings sweetly, loves people.

she told me she was talking to a woman who said she was sick of her parakeet and was going to let it go outside. :omg: don't you know where we live? don't you know it's august?? it's really hot in the daytime and really cold at night! how is the poor little thing going to get any water? food? RAWR!!

manager told me she'll probably be taking in that parakeet, too. thank heaven i wasn't around for either of those episodes, my poor little heart would not have been able to resist, and i can't have any more birds!

I think its the open spaces and grass seeds and water...
Look for the owner please if noone is found bring a recording of lovebird contact calls or a laptop with you and play youtube contact calls bet the bird shows right up!
I got lucky with sweetie i heard him and i made my own contact calls plop landed right on me :D
