Hi
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sandy. I'm from western Canada
Calgary, Alberta. I have inherited 2 love birds back in early June. These 2 have recently become parents. They are doing a great job. I'm excited to finally see the babies come out on there own. Not yet though...

Several of our members are from your area. Not sure how far away they are, and you might even be neighbors!

Welcome to the Community
Some of the most wonderful people have found this little spot in cyberspace to share so much knowledge and experiances. I'm glad you found your way over here too. :D
I look forward to hearing more about your lovies, and getting to know you better...I have learned so much from here, and know I have a lot more to learn. It is awsome to find a place that makes everyone feel so welcome, and a place with as much experiance as I have found here.

Welcome! I also live in Atlanta, Georgia. Yep, that makes four lovie nuts in this hot & humid state :D You'll love this board. Full of information with lots of caring people too. I have three lovies and I'm trying to stop collecting them  before Janie comes after me.
Oh, and about the pictures - Lori won't accept just one or two of them - you need to post lots :lol See ya around!

Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome.
Its nice to see so many bird lovers. Across North America.
Mom and Dad are doing great with the babies (2) that were born August 1, 2005. Its fun to watch the parents with the babies. I do have a question for any of you.
Is it normal for dad to regurgitate food to mom who then feeds it to the babies. ??
When would the babies start coming out of their nest???
They are pretty strong singing for their meals. As well they are getting some colour on their tail.
They hold their heads up pretty well.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Sandy in Canada

Yup and it good cause it makes sure babies get no seeds in them at this moment.
When would the babies start coming out of their nest???
My baby started leaving nest box at around 7wks
I am glad your babies are doing well. Nothing like watching them grow.

Hi Sandy......welcome to this board....from Missouri.....I have acquired a lot of birds over this summer.....I had 4 parakeets just because I love their chatter, my son brought me a cockatiel, I adopted a cockatiel & 2 lovebirds(dutch blues) from the same shelter, bought 2 more cockatiels that came with 2 big cages and 1 small cage, bought 2 more lovebirds that I just couldn't resist (Lutino PF and Creamino) at my very first bird show, and made my son buy me 2 zebra finches (which today I figured out are both males per some info on the birdsnways web site-the pet store told me they were too young to tell what sex they were)....and I discovered the females don't have the red cheek patches.....so maybe that's a good thing, really or else I'd have finch babies to try and find homes for, but I kind of want a female anyway just because I've got everybody else paired up. I love birds, wildlife, photography, reading, sewing, crafting, swimming....oh and shoes, purses, clothes, jewelry...of any kind. Well, that was kind of long winded. Look forward to seeing you around and hearing about the babies.

Hi Sandy, I live in abbotsford bc, nice to have you here!!! I have 10 lovies (yep, sold 7 just this past week, very sad but cant keep all the babies!!!) and always want more...one of every color, but not enough time to give them all the attention they need so I gotta keep it under 20, :lol .
Good luck with the babies and congrats on them!!
