My birds don't make noise most the day, they usually are only noisey first thing in the morning or when sleeping lol.Maybe you're bird is still adjusting to his new surroundings or perhaps he is just not a noisey bird?

My sunny is waay noiser for my hubby than she is for me. I mostly hear her chirping in the morning when we're waking up & she can hear us. It's kind of "hey, I can hear you're up! come get me out of here so i can play with you guys!"

The rest of the time she plays quietly unless she reeeeally wants to come out & them may chirp for attention. She's actually more likely to wait till we look at her & wiggle like mad. She's learned we think it's pathetically cute & are more likely to let her out.

My mom's hina is pretty quiet... she'll chrip to herself if the tv is on, but if it's off she shuts up. I started a thread about it before & feedback was that it's probably a "survival instinct" thing.

If you (the flock) aren't making noise, then likely neither will she... quiet is safer so predators can't find you. If you (flock) are noisy, then it must be safe to be loud, too.

Funny! My blue fisher was so quiet when we got him I was worried. He was like that for the first week until I got him to chirp by putting my finger against my lips and sucking air between my finger to make a high pitch noise.

At that point he started chirping and chirping and chirping! I think he needed someone to get up to his level in order to come out of his shell :)

Some birds are quieter than others.

Freyja and Odinn aren't very loud birds. When I spent time with my mother's lovies you'd think the world was ending for all the yelling!

It's funny....when we first got Pip, he was a noisey little thing at first! Now he's mostly a quiet bird. The only thing that gets him noisey is his response to the other birds here, otherwise he's very quiet. Then there is Rudy! I think he is about as noisey as a lovebird can be! I thought maybe he'd get quieter too after he settled in, but nope, still going strong....he's just a noisey, noisey little guy! Sometimes he just chirps endlessly. All I have to do is go up to his cage and talk to him and I'll get a loud chirp in response along with standing tall and some wing flaps. I will tell my boyfriend....no wonder why the girl was giving up Rudy! he's SOooo noisey! but that's ok here.....we love lil lovie sounds here, plus if I let Rudy out and he flies to the top of the curtain rods, he'll get all cozy there and chill out and actually be quiet for a while!

Cabo was quiet for a day. Now he NEVER shuts it. He sings all day long and gets really really loud when I pull into the yard. We have a loud household though. Teenagers, constant music (which he loves and gets quite irritated if it's not playing) barking dogs and mewling cats. He just talks along with everyone else.
