i went to the vet today and had an exray of my lovebird sunny... he said everything looks good but the bones are not white as they could be. He said to feed the bird more calcium (pellets). I have a cuttle bone and feed him seeds pellets and im putting in egg powder type and vegetables. What are other good food for birds and calcium source. thank

The absolute best vegetable source for calcium is collard greens. It's low in oxalic acid and interferes the least with calcium absorption. Next is broccoli and kale. An expensive but excellent option is figs. I breed a species that has a high calcium requirement and figs are mandatory! When offering the figs, I split them open, as birds normally only eat the seedy inside portion.

Did you ask your vet about an actual calcium supplement? Neo-Glucal is excellent and can be given orally.

Just plain water is best for bathing! You don't need to add anything to it.

Neo-Glucal is a calcium supplement, not a medication and it's really the only thing I would consider using. If not that, my second choice would be figs.

If your grocery store has a natural food section that sells bulk foods you might be able to find figs there.
