As soon as my two entered into the "making eggies" stage every night they were up the whole night being loud, every small sound would set them off, I had to seperate them every night as they were keeping me awake and each other.

Bobble has been sat on her fake eggd for about 4 weeks now, only in the last 4 days has she actually started to spend more time off them and get back to normal Bobble but in the last two days they have been exactly how they were before she had eggs, last night I have been up since 3:30am and didnt get back to sleep worrying they were keeping my flatmate up, they made sounds everytime i sniffed, moved, got up to go to the loo, breathed etc!

Theyre now in the pitch black under their cage cover screaming and chasing each other round the cage like they have been all day trying to sick in each others mouth! Theyre a bit more settled than earlier but they will be like this all night :( if I sniff it sets them off, if they hear a voice outside it sets them off, when I move slightly it sets them off!

Do you think she is going into egg mode again even when she hasnt even fully abandoned her current eggs? :'(

Sorry to go on, its a bit stressful and im so tired!

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear this :(
My lovies mates have always been very quiet, I'm not sure if that is normal either LOL

Hopefully someone will be able to help!

Some hens will go right back into laying mode without ever really coming off the clutch they were incubating. That sounds like what's happening.

I've got to admit that my lovebirds are usually very quiet when they are mating but it sounds like yours are having a good time, even though you aren't! :)

Thats just it Linda, theyre not attempting to actually mate! Its like theyre on drugs, its 07:10am and they were up the entire night peeping and moving around! Im shattered!

I have just taken the nezt box out as she isnt sitting on the eggs anymore, hopefully thatll help, I miss Bobble, havent seen her for ages, dont want her to go into that again :'(

They are very quiet birds in the night, just when they get hormonal they believe they are unstopable! :omg:

Thanks, so far I can hear beak grinding, every now and then they both peep but they seem to have calmed down a bit now I have taken out the next box and fake eggs, ive had two nights of no sleep, im hoping I, and the two naughty birdies (whos batteries dont seem to ever run out!) definately sleep tonight! :D

If no sleep poor Sticky will have to be placed in the small cage and brought into another room for the night :(

Are these birds in your bedroom? If so, maybe you should consider moving them into another room where they won't be disturbed by the noises you make in the night.

If they are covered and have no night light they may be disturbed by the sounds they hear and are fearful because they can't see what it is. Some birds suffer from night frights and a small night light will help that.

They may also be going into breeding cycle again. It's good that you removed the eggs and the nest.

Now, if you move them out of your bedroom (if they are there) you might get more sleep. ;)

Yes, they are in my bedroom, currently my brother is sleeping on the sofa for a while whilst he saves for a place to live, I dont have a TV in there so dont use the living room at all, so I worry if the birds are in there they will get quite lonely!

They are always completely quiet all night, regardless of any noises, as soon as i put the small light on they know its bedtime and settle down but at the moment nothing is settling them which makes me think theyre wanting to breed again!

They were a lot better last night but still didnt sleep the whole night!

Think I need to buy a TV and start using the living room which is something I was thinking about last night :)

Oh dear Gill, I complain when Holly wakes me up at 4 in the morning, can't imagine what it's like to have them going all night. Hope they settle down soon!

Well, touch wood, theyre both settling down in seperate spots in the cage as supposed to chasing each other around as I have put the little light on so they know its bedtime, beaks grinding and one foot up :)

I may be tired but they are just too cute to be mad at!

Gill. .. One of our male lovebirds B.B. is an absolute night owl. ... I swear, nothing gets past him, not even a mouse! ... Should he even "think" he hears something, its an automatic BUUUUEEEEP! .. Sometimes in the middle of night (2-3-4AM >:), for no apparent reason he'll run across the bottom of his cage several times peeping away. .. Whenever i'd check to see if he's OK, he'd be hanging upside down peeking out from under his cage cover. I can only imagine him having a mate :omg:!... Mad? ...impossible!....He's the cutest little alarm system we've ever had!.........:p

My lovie Frodo went through a 'loud' phase during the night after we moved...she'd be up for several hours clanging her toys and 'singing' (yeah, 'singing' maybe isn't the word for it...) with no apparent motivation other than a change in environment (which was, perhaps, a big one)...and then up again just before sunrise with the same routine. Eventually she settled out, although I can't even imagine how much worse it would have been had she been in the bedroom; though they really are too cute to be truly annoyed with for long :)

Lovies are all so different - I love it! Cipher sleeps like a rock, and is not a "morning birdie". He'd honestly be the worst alarm clock/burglar alarm ever. I have to wake his feathered butt up in the mornings when I am brewing coffee.

When Cabo goes to sleep the roof could cave in and he'd sleep through it! If you do manage to awaken him, he really tells you off. The shrieking conure is a different story all together.....
