Looks like a very interesting forum with lots of information. About 5 wks ago, I was fortunate enough to get my first lovebird. I bought her out of an ad in a paper for $40. She is a peachface and very affectionate. She loves to have all kinds of attention and likes to have naps cuddled up to my cheek. Her name was Lucky so I told the lady I would keep the same name...altho I don't know who is luckier, me or Lucky! I also have in my flock 2 gray tiels(m&f), 1 canary(m), 1 budgie(f) and 2 zebra finches and a family of 6 society finches. I look forward to being a new member of this community and learning many new things from you. :grouphug:
Hello and welcome to the forum. I look forward hearing more about Luck. sounds like she is very tame and a velcro baby. Lucky you! :D
You'll find a lot of interesting information about lovebirds on this forum and many helpful people to answer your questions, if you have any.
Out of curiousity, are you quarantining Lucky? It's always recommended for the safety of the flock.
Got any pictures? :D

Thank you, and yes, Lucky was quarantined until a couple of days ago. I do have a digital and will be posting pics soon. I do have a bird room under construction and that is where Lucky has been spending her days. I let her fly free all day and she clings to me during the evening. My other birds are not tame however so I will not be letting them out at the same time.

Hi and welcome to a great forum! :)
Yes, the "Your Attention Please" section is a great place to start to learn just about every thing possible about Lovies!
I got my first lovie, adopted him 2 years ago and he is also a very sweet little boy. He's a normal peachie, around 10 years old, we think. He was such a joy that I just added two more, brothers that are 4 months old. I am doing just what you're doing......adding a bird room! :D The work starts tomorrow and I can't wait. I think all three of my lovies will like it a lot.
Glad you found us and look forward to a photo of Lucky!

Hi Lucky's Mom!....I enjoyed visiting with you on Saturday night chat. I didn't catch your name. I was curious what kind of set up do you have for your finches. I am new to finches. Currently I have mine, ea. pair in two tall cages. I thought since they are so active that would be best out of the cages I have. I put 3 perches, one at each different level;top, middle, bottom and got them the little wicker basket. I also put some fake ivy and leaves around on the outside of the cages so they would feel more secure, I saw that on somebodies web site. And they have a little bowl of bath water every day. Finches seem to be very hardy and were not as hard to convert to a better diet than my other birds. I don't have to take away their seeds to get them to eat the brown rice/bean/pasta mix. :D Which makes me very happy!
