the latest addition to our family..... Raymond Hayden :)

Born October 1st, 7:11 am, 7 lbs 15 oz, 20 inches long, and lots of hair!

I've missed everyone as the last bit of this pregnancy kept me away, but I'm back (more or less ;) ) and everyone is doing well. Pictures are coming soon, but you can visit the hospital's site Hayden's welcome page (http://www.newbabynews.net/hospitals/sh7/public/sh7birthannouncement.pl?babyID=h7-9353)

looking forward to catching up with everyone...

Congrats on little RayHay. Oh dear, that didn't sound right.

Glad all went well and that little Eden now has someone to keep her company, and Friday has a new student to teach the ropes to.

Eagerly awaiting the new pictures.

Rachel,

Little Raymond is just precious. He has a head full of hair, and the most beautiful skin. I just love little babies and their soft, soft skin. Wish I were there to pet him.

I know Eden must be soooooo excited. What a special little blessing you have there. Congrats to you and Ray.

Rachel & Ray,

Congrats on a beautiful boy!! We share a birthday :) How's Eden doing with a new baby brother?

Thanks everyone :) We sure think he's a cutie too. Eden is doing good so far with little brother. She held his hand on the way home from the hospital, and is very curious about him. Our main concern with them is that she doesn't quite get the concept of "gentle" yet, and wants to try and play and share a bit too eagerly. But, at least I'm confident that as he gets bigger they'll get along well. Friday doesn't know quite what to think of the new baby, but comes over to peer at him a few times each day.
MJ, had to laugh about the two kids, one lovie comment. I think I agree! Friday probably would too :lol We're definitely planning on getting him a girlfriend, or at least a friend at any rate, as soon as we can. He loves playing with Eden (or maybe its just her toys LOL which he thinks are his) but I think a little feathered companion would be well recieved. Whatever happened to all those babies that you had in the summer?

Rachel, I still have quite a few left. A bunch are on the "wild" side as I was planning to keep a few for breeders, but I also have two very tame young ones that were parent raised, then handfed, then parent raised again (long story). I also have a creamino hen that will be weaned in about two more weeks and she's cute as a button and tame. I also have 4 hens in nest boxes at the moment sitting on six eggs already.

Wow! Congrats, Rachel! I like the name choice. Glad to hear that mama and baby are doing fine, and that his big sister is excited to have him home.

He's going to get nice and big by the first Sunday in November; Daddy is gonna need all the guys in the circle to help hold him up when he blesses him... :)

hmmmmm MJ, that creamino hen sure is tempting :D. We're definitely looking for a tame one, and I'd love a blue series... Maybe I'll have to make a trip up to Portland in a couple weeks  I'm going to run it by the husband, but I think that he'll be good with it. He keeps making remarks about getting Friday a girlfriend :lol

Friday is super curious about the new baby. Wish I would have had the camera yesterday... he was hanging upside down from the edge of the bassinet to try and get a good close look.

Rachel, what are the dates you are going to be up in this area? I ask because there is a bird fair Nov 5 & 6th and I'll be working it with a new found breeder friend. I figure if I am working at the bird fair I will be too busy to buy more birds! :lol

ooooooooooooo :) bird fair!

I really don't have any specific dates down yet... could come pretty much whenever. Course i'd have to work around Ray's schedule, since I've become less mobile now with the addition of a second baby :lol .

Are you selling off some of the summer progeny at the fair? or just helping your friend out?
