Hi everyone,

I found this site a few weeks back and have made good use of it, except for introducing myself. I have gotten to know Lori (bellarains) since she lives near by and we went to the bird show in Nashville together Saturday and it was great. She showed me all the toys my lovie would probably like and she was right. She helped me pick out a new cage and although Willow didn't care for it initially I think he/she is adapting quite well now. Thinks the nice big water bowl is a birdbath. Loves the top that opens up. Willow still prefers out of the cage eating my jewelry but seems very happy in as well.
Thanks for all the good reading.

Welcome! Glad to hear that you were able to hook up with Lori and find all kinds of good stuff for your lovie. I love the name Willow, by the way. See you 'round the board!

Well, we now know why Lori didn't come home with much from the birdfair. She was too busy showing you what to buy

Welcome Lori, from Atlanta, GA. Glad you could hook up with Lori and have fun buying your lovie great toys and stuff. I'm a birdfair junkie so I understand. I have three lovies and they are my my world. Hope to see ya around the board! :D

Yep,

We had a blast. My hubby said, quote:"You had fun spending someone else's money" Not entirely true, but I did enjoy helping you pick out stuff for Willow, and I'm glad he is enjoying it. BTW, has he snuggled up to his birdy buddy yet? Bela sure loved his before I got Lacey, now he has a new snuggle buddy ;)

Next show in April Lori. Start saving up now :lol

Ah....we wondered what Lori....Lori was talking about...and she said it was not Lori (Sparkette).....so now we know. How nice it is that you found her and had a friend to go with to the bird show. I have only been to 2 and while my hubby is not too thrilled with going, he did buy me a tall stand with 4 user friendly cages at a bird show on Sunday....so I just might take him to the next one, but I'd rather have a birdy friend to run around with. This is a fun board, but be careful....lovies are very addictive.....and you may end up with several....I sure have... :p ...and a few other birds.

Welcome Lori, glad you found us. Yep! you and Willow are in good hands with Lori and I'm sure she helped you pick out some great stuff for your fid :D .

btw, I'm Laura and me and my flock live on the island of Oahu. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we don't have bird fairs out here. I have 19 lovies and 2 Meyer's parrots. Who knows how many I'd have with birdfairs

Thanks for all your welcomes. I'm afraid by the next bird show I will know if Willow is male or female and I will be wanting a mate for him/her but on reading some of the post I'm a little scared of the whole propagation thing. I'm a labor and delivery nurse and I've dealt with cats and dogs having babies but birds are a whole different thing it seems. I may have to come up with a new name if there are so many Loris. Lori (bellarains) has been a good spender of my money. Willow hasn't cozied up to the bird buddy yet but loves the jingly ball and the rubbery ball that feel like the remote control buttons. Willow seems to like the hut at nite and I know with keeping the house a little cooler in the winter He/she will probably appreciate it. Also, liking the birdybread better every day. I have already put the idea in my husbands ear that down the road I'm really liking the African Greys. But, since we have 4 children, one dog, one cat, one parakeet, one lovebird and one recently captured lizard, it will be a while.

Lori,

I really am looking forward to the next bird show now :lol

Seriously, two lovebirds is no more work than one. In fact, I have found that they take less time, as they amuse each other, and don't require me as much. They still love to be out with me, and I do spend a little one on one with each of them, but it's also nice that they have each other when I'm not there.

I'm glad Willow like his new stuff, and is warming up to his new digs. They really are fun to buy for, aren't they???? ;)

Hey, welcome to the boards. Glad you found Lori and went to a birdfair together. I've heard they're great. And yeah, the birdie bread is one of my birds' favourite food. I like to add tons of shredded vegetables for extra nutrients, and they love it. Anyways, hope ya have fun around the boards.
