Hello everyone!
I'm not only new to this site but have never tried message boards ever! Been kinda scared to! :omg: But I have to say I posted this morning and already got two great replies from some very nice and helpful people!!! Thank you!!! I have enjoyed what I have read so far and feel very welcomed! Thank you! I hope too later on down the road when I'm not such a newbie  I'll be able to help too!
I'm fairly new to birds I just love them!!!! :D Inside the house and outside! I have two Zebra finches who I adore very much but just got a lovebird named Olio. I can see how they are very popular with people but also the time and love they need. We are willing to do whatever it takes for our new one to feel welcome in our home.
I'm so grateful I came across this site! :D :grouphug1

I'm glad you found this community too. The information and support I've found here is priceless. It's educated me and improved the lives (and size :lol) of my flock immensely.
I don't think I mentioned, but we love pictures, so if you've got some of your lovie and finches, please post them in the photo forum!

Crablover:
Oregon, what a beautiful state! My husband has family in Medford and Central Point and Crater Lake is amazing. I can't get over the view of the mountains behind Wal-Mart in Portland! It was very hard for me to go into the store, I just wanted to look at the mountains.....anyway.... So....welcome from Missouri. I have cockatiels, lovies, budgies and zebra finches. I had to have the zebra finches because they make the cutiest little honking noises(or typewritter noises), my son bought me 2 for my birthday in Aug., but they were both males since the petstore girl didn't know how to tell the sexes and I hadn't done my homework. I recently got 2 females over the weekend, one is very white; I hope it's a female. The kids that work in these stores are mostly teenagers and I'm not sure what the requirements are to get a job there, but I don't think it's knowing much about the animals! Look forward to getting to know you.

Hello Paulette!
It is very beautiful here! Right now we have a little storm coming in and I'm watching the wind blow my feeders and birds around outside!!! I started out with Chirp my male zebra finch. We just loved him so much I had to go out and get him a girlfriend. She is all white too so maybe yours is too!!! Her name is Tweep. Now we have Olio! When I have a chance I'll post some pictures of them. I hear what you are saying about the pet stores! Thanks again for making feel so welcome!

woooohooooo...another lovie owner in Oregon :D I'm up the road a little bit from you near Eugene, but actually grew up in Crescent City, so I've been through Grants Pass many, many times. Can't wait to see some pictures of your flock :) (I say as I am still lagging behind on getting new pics up myself... )

Hello Neighbor! I'm hoping to have some pics today-still learning the computer/pic process! Crescent City is my husband's and mine and our Pom Hersheys favorite getaway! There are awesome crabs on a rocky beach down there. (I collect crabs also) Nice to meet everyone! :)
