Bitey, molty birds

Milo has been bitey lately. He'll just stand calmly on the back of my hand and ever-so-casually reach down to bite the tar out of me. He drew blood yesterday. And it's not just me. He's been going after Hubby's fingernails, trying to get his little beak under the side of the nail so he can peel it off. Ow.

He really only gets this way when he's molting. What makes it even more fun is when Miss Melly decides that since Milo's bitey, she should be bitey too. But she's more sneaky about it and much more vicious. Hubby has nicknamed her "Jaws." Her specialty is bites to the feet and ankles. And if you move your feet away from her, it p***es her off all the more and the biting gets even worse. Yikes!

Molting is NOT my favorite time of year. I need to make sure that we have lots of warm baths for everybirdy. And maybe a warm bath for me.....

I am so sorry. it seems molting for some reason calmed mine down. No bite from Baggy last 3 times I took her out. I hope the bath helps and they stop biting.

Yep, molting is the pits! Molly nip bites me all the time cause he wants me to rub his head - poor baby. Daisy & Piper don't do this. They just come up and nudge my fingers until their head is in between and I "have" to rub their little heads. It's too cute. But Molly :eek: ! As soon as molting is over he's my sweet baby all over again.

Well my nasty nesty little Mellybell has declared open season on my fingers. This morning when I decided that it was time for birdies to go back to their cage for a snack and a drink, she got me on the heel of my hand, where the skin is all thin and tender. Then she latched on to my finger and would NOT let go. She was hanging from my finger by the beak. Yeah, that one left a mark.

Jennifer I think Miss Melly called Baggy cause she got me today too. She did not think it was time to go to bed. She told me so and got me in same spot she chomped on Saturday.
