I recieved a call from a neighbor this morning who is looking for a new home for his 2yr old green peachface lovebird. The family travels a lot and is leaving for Mexico next weekend. They can't take the bird along and don't want to board the bird while they're gone. I don't like to see birds uprooted but I think in this case, a new home is what's best. From the description I got, the bird is a male and tame and handleable. No health problems disclosed. They'll give the bird free of charge but will be keeping his cage. If you live close enough to take ownership sometime this week and are interested, please send me a private email at apac@gglbbs.com and I'll give you contact information. I may end up taking this bird myself but I'm really not itching to have another bird added to my household right now. The bird is located in central Wisconsin in the Iola/Rosholt area (about 25 miles southeast of Stevens Point). Nearest bigger cities are Oshkosh and Appleton.

Robin, I wish you so much luck finding a home for this little one. I know people say this all the time, "if I lived closer" but honestly, in this case, a peachie and a male at that, I do think I'd take this bird. Just makes me think of Oliver. Hopefully he'll end up in a very good home and lead a happy healthy life....like Oliver! :) I know that will be the case if YOU end up taking him. :D

Janie,
Just what my TAG wants, more lovebird competition :omg: and one that wants to be handled.
Last night it was "c'mon" "Bebop" "dog calling type whistle" and Bebop didn't even look twice. Must be frustrating for Rocky. He likes the poodle but the poodle ignores him. :D

So Robin, do you have a placement update? Do you have a new lovebird in your house? :D

Janie,
I talked to the owner this morning and they've decided to put more effort into keeping thier bird. They will find a bird sitter at their southern home base before crossing the border. They decided they'd just miss him too much.

Robin, that is good news! I hope it works out for them and I'm happy to hear that they'd miss him. :) While Rocky doesn't know what he missed, I'm sure he'd be very, very happy to have missed it! :D

Awwww, that's such good news! I'm glad that things worked out for them so that they are able to keep their little one. :)
