Hi everyone,

Her-B and the Texas Gang all say hi. I must say though, they are a bit nervous in new situations so they've elected me to do the typing. Lucky you, their typing is totally illegible, but they're a little sensitive so don't tell them I told you. Oh look, how cute, they're blushing. :o

Well, as usual, spring has sprung at my house and I have babies! But only three this time. Q.T. and Erin are the proud mamma and pappa (respectively) of two peachie babies, hatched the 9th and 11th of this month. AND our little Her-B's a mom! On May 16, she hatched one baby. Thank god it's just one because she's such a neurotic mother; gee I wonder where she got that from? Anyway, last night I had to clean off Derby's face (my niece named Her-B's hatchling Derby) because Her-B's just a bit zealous in her feeding efforts and completly covered little Derby's beak and eyes, but all is well now. Herb's mate, Peridot, is a bit too guardy and keeps Her-B in the nest box feeding the baby. So, me being the good Nanabird, I have step in every few hours and make sure that Her-B feels the love and gets some fresh air. Ah life.

I am going to take the plunge though and reintroduce the Texas gang to the aviary. I've gotten some diatomaceaous earth and I'm planting some lovie friendly plants in the aviary, I'll post some photos when I get it all put together. It's coming along nicely. Her-B however, will stay in the house as my pet, Derby will be her only baby, ever. :D

Well, the board looks great and I hope to see you all more often, well at least for a little while, I have a month off from school then back at it again. Ah life.

Take Care!

Joy

Hey Joy!!

Good to see you back. :):) Sam is still a momma's boy, but he a Didjit are learning how to be friends, slowly but surely. Didjit is still too young to be more than a friend, and we aren't exactly sure "she" is a girl. "She" has gotten rather clicky of late, and Tim thinks he saw Didjit trying to gack for Gracie ... then again, everyone caters to Gracie.

Send congratulations to Her-B for me, okay? I think the name Derby is wonderful. Did the little one hatch on Derby Day by chance? ;) So glad to hear the Her-B knows how to feed at all! Can't blame her for being a little sloppy at first. There had to be a learning curve.

TTYL, :)

Joy,

I'm glad you told us about Her-b and her baby. I was wondering how she was doing. Got any pictures of you grand-birdie? :D. I like the name Derby.

Hello Joy!
Great to see you and hear that all is going well for you and the fids. Her-B a mother huh?!!!! Crazy how quickly these little ones grow up on us.

Take care,

Joy,

I can't believe Her-B is a Mama. It just doesn't seem like it's been that long. Derby is an adorable name, your niece done good :)

I'm with Jackie. I'd love to see some pics of the little one when you get a chance.

TTYL,

Lori

It was May 7th this year. It's the day the Kentucky Derby is run. :)

Joy,

I must admit that I absolutely adore the quote in your signature. I've laughed at it every time I saw it on the old board, and am still enjoying it now seeing it here :) Thanks for finding it!

Yes, Rachel and don't you completely understand it? It fits, right? I met a friend once at a restaurant and his wife reached over to my shoulder and said "oh you have something on your shoulder." I said, "careful, it could be from my birds." Of course it was, but the point is it seemed totally natural to me :D
