Hello everyone, I lost this site once and am pleased to have re found it, anyway I started off with yellow with red heads love birds, luckily they were a couple, around a year ago, the first egg was laid, so now a year later we are into our third batchthe first two produced one new baby each time, this last time we have 3 new ones, the cage is getting too full, I intend to keep the parents of course and the eldest babies.

My questions are as follows:

What age can the babies in the box be re homed, they are about 3 weeks old now, is it when they venture from the box or how long after? I am not hand feeding them.

I read that is is bad for mum and dad to constantly have babies, should I consider seperating them for some time?

Also Dad is extremely close to the youngest baby, I think maybe its a girl as he never was like that with the eldest, Mum seems to squabble with her a lot but she does seem very flirtatous with Dad always preening him and he is often with her on the perch when mums not about?
Hope someone can help me
many thanks
Freda

Parent raised babies are usually weaned by the time they are 8 weeks old. I usually hold mine and extra week or two so that I can be sure they can eat completely on their own. I won't sell my babies until they are about 10 weeks old.

Hi Freda! I did a copy/paste of Linda's reply to you in the breeding thread to be sure that you see it here if you did not see it there. :)
