View Full Version : Lovie in New England needs a new home
Is there anyone in the New England area who might be able to provide a good home to a sweet male pet lovebird? He is very nice, loves people, and is so pretty he even won a ribbon in a bird show last fall. He needs a new home, and I am hoping to find just the right place for him. I think he would be very happy as a pet, for someone who has ALOT of time for him, or as a companion to another lovie. He is just over one year old. Please let me know if there is anyone out there who can help. thank you. His name is Gusto and here is a photo of him....( I hope )...the photo is clickable....

Gosh Judi, he is gorgeous!!!! What a sweet looking face he has, too! I'm in the south and not looking for another lovie but I do hope you find a good home for this beautiful little male. :) I'm sure he would be a wonderful addition to a good home!

MJ, you are a bad person! Very bad! Do you know that the minute I looked at that photo of Gusto and saw HIS age as one year, I was thinking, "Gee, maybe he would be a nice buddy for Shy!" Nope, it ain't gonna happen! I've decided, with some great advice from a friend, to ride this one out and see how it goes with my three. Just my luck....I'd get a buddy for Shy and that new bird would also like Oliver best! :lol
Judi, I did go back to some of your former post and remembered your story with Razzle. I knew you sent him on to another home but kept Gusto. I'm sorry to hear that now Gusto also needs a new home but I do hope he finds a good one soon. :)

One day I hope to move to Europe, but it won't be anytime soon, unfortunately. :( But little Gusto it just gorgeous! My little Trixie would probably like him.
Janie: a GCC, another lovie...only two birdies, now! That's not much. :D

Lisa, now MJ has company on the "bad person" list! Welcome! :D
Hmmm...so nobody from New England, then, huh? Darn. I was hoping to hear from Lori, who used to be on this list, and lived in Rhode Island. Is she not around anymore? She had been a big help when i was going through this last year with Razzle. Well, thanks everyone. I hope I can find the perfect situation for Gusto. If anyone has any ideas on who could take him in, please let me know. Thanks alot....

Judi, in this same section, right below your post, you'll find "Lori".....she just posted a few days ago. I think she re-homed all of her love birds quite some time ago.

Judi,
That is one precious lovie. If I were closer, I think I would cave in to that sweet little face. Shoot, I love him already just looking at his pic:)
I think we do have some members near you. I know you will be able to place that sweetie pie easily though. Geez, what a face!!!!
I will say that if I had to re-home my birds, the first place I'd look would be here of course, but the second place would be my avian vets office. This way I would be assured that the home he would go to would have some knowledge of birds, and know the importance of vet care.
I hope you find him the best home. I know giving up a beloved pet is heartbreaking, but it makes it a little better knowing you have placed them in a caring, loving home.
Take Care,
Lori
Thank you Janie...I just read Lori's post. I guess if she no longer has lovies, than that option is out. thanks for letting me know.
And thanks Lori, for the idea about the vet. I can ask them about it. Great idea!
Thanks alot everybody....

Jude, I may know of someone in england who would be able to provide Gusto with a lovely home. I'll ask him the next time I talk to him.

Judie,
sorry I havn't gotten back to you about gus, never seems to be enough time in a day.....ugh!
unfortunatly I did have to rehome my lovebirds, I did find them all wonderful new homes, and I keep in contact with some of those who took them in, I do miss them. (I dont however miss the breeding part of it...babies yes,,,,,the work and stress of the eggs and hatching,,,and being eaten alive by the mamma birds...NOPE)
We now have an 11 month old Umbrella Cockatoo, a 9 month old Goffin Cockatoo, and Charlie, the TAG...
Although Im trying to find a decent loving home for charlie, if I cant seem to find anyone with parrot experience enough to meet the needs of charlie in my opinion, then Charlie will stay until such time that I do find someone I feel can handle her.
I am sorry I couldn't help you out with gus...but I am very very glad to hear that you may have a new home for him. I wish you luck with that.
take care,
Lori

Judi,
I hope the new home works out for you. Gusto is such a sweet looking little lovie, and I just know he has a personality as sweet as his little face. I think anyone would be blessed to have him:)
Thanks everyone. I hope I am doing the right thing. It feels so sad in a way, but then again, it feels like this is what he needs and wants. I am happy to have found someone who seems like she will take very good care of him. I too hope it works out well for everyone involved....
Thanks for your help, and Lori, thanks for letting me know what has been happening with you. I hope you can find a great home for Charlie....
