Today, I was changing the seed dishes from the cages. All was going well until I had to do Gracie and George's cage. One of the seed dishes is hung on the cage wall and has to be removed through the entrance gate. Since Gracie is not finger freindly, I use a dowel to take each one out and transfer them to my shoulder. (George has to go wherever his Gracie goes.) As I was removing the dish, George gave me a nip on the back of my neck (Felt like a hard pinch.)! The shock caused me to throw the contents of the old seed dish everywhere. Little sneaky $%@#&!+^! >:
I don't know, maybe if I grow a mullet this won't happen anymore?

OUCH!!! Sneaky? YES
My Olivia does this to my brother when he visits. She never does it to me - strange. She does have an issue with hands - bites me all the time.

Gracie told him to do it I'll bet. Sneaky little birds. I've got a couple that will do that too, though I think I've turned into "leather skinned woman" cause I don't feel too many bites anymore. :lol
Please do grow the mullet...make sure Barb posts pics! :lol

I can feel your pain. My Emma does this all the time, it's the only thing I'm afraid of when he's on my shoulders. I keep thinking he's trying to tell me something but I just have no clue.

Stealth Biter? :omg: That's how Luka is! He's all mild mannered and sweet and then turns into a vampire bird on the shoulder.
...gotta see that mullet...

Miss Melly tends to go for the back of the neck, too. Mostly because she knows it p***es my husband off. :)
Now ... about this mullet. What kind of mullet are you gonna grow? Long and straight or permed and wavy? Does Barb know about this? :lol

A Mullet??! Ack :x
Now if he'd said millet, Tim might have a bargaining currency with the birds. ;)
Georgie has been a regular little pest lately, and I can see why Gracie sometimes gets perturbed with him. Sometimes he pinches my chin -- he never leaves a mark, just pinches. I've had to stop myself from returning him to the cage when he does that; now he doesn't get to go back unless he gives me a little wing flap.

Pete & Charlie love to sit on my glasses and nibble on my ear and eyebrow. They never hurt, but, they bite harder on my finger. When on my head they rearrange my hair. They talk while doing this, and I wonder what they are saying. I believe that biting is a way they try to show love,SOMETIME.

It's funny; I don't mind the little finger bites any more. I used to be terrified of any bite because our first lovie (Gracie) always tried to draw blood. It took me some time to learn that not all bites are the same.
Facial bites, though, make me crazy. Georgie's bites aren't *that* hard, they are truly pinches, but they are on the face or neck. It might have to do with him wanting food, or just wanting attention in general. I've been making sure to have food and water available immediately when he comes out, and also I've been moving him down, away from my face. The two tactics seem to be helping, knock wood. ;)
