I'm getting a bit worried. Pete is starting to show extreme animosity towards men.:x
He attacked my boyfriend's brother today, and while he didn't break skin, he did look pretty serious.:lol
Is there anything I can do to help him with his man-hatred?

What was going on just prior to the attack? Biting in birds is a complex thing and it isn't always the way we preceive it to be!
For example, I have a Military Macaw who is very bonded to me. When he is with me or I'm anywhere around him, heaven help anyone who gets close to me! He will go right after that person, as he's protecting me from what he views as a potential threat. He's not overly friendly with anyone else when I'm not around, but he can definitely be aggressive when I am there!

Ditto is kind of like that. He is friendly with people. He loves to meet new people and will be quite friendly with them. But, touch me and you're getting bloody.

Well, I was on the with my boyfriend when it happened (he was there, and I was at my parents house trying to figure out why Hag [aka, mom] was trying to pawn my saxophone). He was talking about how he was going to let Pete out to wander around for a little and wallaby had offered to hold him, and then I hear girly shreiking and "GETITOFFGETTHISD***THINGOFF!" hysterical laughter from the girlfriend, and my boyfriend starting laughing.
I'd assume, from all of that, that wallaby probably opened the cage and was chasing Pete around the cage with his finger trying to get him to step up.
But that's not the only incident: He'll come to me or any of my boyfriend's neices, but whenever any of the menfolk come in, he gets really puffed and territorial. He's attacked my boyfriend and my boyfriend's best friend, both whille not in the presence of a female, and he's attack just about every male he's ever encountered if in the presence of a female.
Maybe a man was mean to him when he was at the petstore?

Baggy my hen disliked human males. She would fly to my hubby and pull his hair out and bite him. She did not like my sons either. But would preen me and my daughter. So it is possible..lol.

Yes, it's very possible that a man was mean to her! They have remarkable memories!

I agree. I've heard of many parrots that hate men or women. Doesn't MJ have a woman hating bird?

I have a woman hating Indian Ringneck rescue. His name is Chubs and he is at least 10years old and has hated women for as long as his last owners could remember. It's too funny because he totally loves my DH and coos for him and gives him kisses, but if I come around he's all eye pins and attacks. I'm working on him though, and am determined to build a relationship with him.......Well I sort of have one now. He screams cause he wants something and I run to get it for him:x :x .
On another note, my younger Meyer's Koa isn't really fond of men. He's not mean but does not like being handled by men or boys but loves women  .

lol.
I'm working on Pete and Bun's relationship. I'm currently in the "*you* feed him millet" stage. (siiiigh)

When Leslie comes to visit, Olivia flys to him immediately. She runs up his arm, hangs on his collar and bites him on the back of the neck! Everytime!! He's afraid of her. Now this is the guy who owns a Blue & Gold Macaw

Not 1 but 2 female hating parrots! :lol I've made huge strides with Ripley and as long as I am alone with him, he likes me, sings and dances and even lets me scratch his head and feed him treats, but if the hubby is around; I am dirt and the target of flying attacks and the drawing of blood. Chester just downright hates me. He's the old, grouchy conure that likes me enough to tolerate my hand in his cage to change food and water (and to offer treats) but other than that, I am also dirt in his mind.
Even with getting the two of them (Pete and Boyfriend) to interact, Pete might still attack, especially if you are around as he is bonded to you. Have the boyfriend try working alone with Pete away from you and his cage. It might help the trust issues a bit, however prepare him for the inevitable bites and tell him to "take it like a man!"

lol. He's such a pansy though. I've done: just pet him for a second, give him a little shower, feed him millet, and watch TV.
I'd say at this juncture, Pete has pretty well decided that I am the be-all end-all of his little birdy world. I had to stay home this weekend, and when I got back to my boyfriend's house, Pete was doing the joyful little tail wiggle all over the cage and doing a little "pppppeeeeek Peke PEEK PEKEY PEKEY PEKEY ROOOOOOOOO" (his version of "peekaboo")
When Bun gets in the room though, Pete runs to the corner of the cage and slams his beak into the bars. almost like he's saying "bring it!"
(sighs) I wish he'd take him out while I wasn't there, but between birdy shirt streaks and his fear of being bit (other than wallaby, Pete has never really bitten anyone hard) I don't know if that'll ever happen.
We'll see what happens when Bun's kid gets here next week. (crosses fingers)

You tried not to sound very pleased about this, you really did ... but I can tell Pete has got you wrapped around his little toe! ;)
I think you read Pete's body language for the boyfriend very accurately. Don't know if you ever watch hockey, but there are times when the goalie bangs is stick on the ice; that's what this kind of beak pounding looks like to me. Can't say I blame BF for not bringing Pete out alone at this point.

lol. Yes, I love my little evil Peteling, but I love my Bun too, and I wish they'd get along.
You know...I just got this really weird mental image of a lovebird iceskating with a hockey stick in his beak, pounding it on the walls and ice of the arena.
