I need to find homes for my two lovies asap. I have one peach faced male named Bart and one PF lutino. The lutino I just got not to long ago and I dont know the sex and unforinatly that means it doesnt have a name. They arent in the same cage and food, cages, and toys are provided. I live in Wyoming and shipping would be impossible unless the new owner could pay for it. Bart is a bitter and that is just his nature. He loves to be taken out and he doesnt have his wings clipped. The lutino doesnt bite but is in training. It has its wings simi-clipped. Im giving them to GOOD HOMES ONLY. I just found out that I wont be able to keep them and we are moving in a week or so. If someone could help me out that would be great. Please pm me or reply here if you are interested. I will be on for a while.
I dont want to have to take them to the local pound:cry:

Kari,
If you were closer to me, I would be willing to take them but paying for shipping to FL is not an option for me. The buyer always pays for the shipping.

ok thanks anyways. I understand about the shipping. I wish I had more time to find them a new home but with me finding out that I cant keep them with moving this close.....*sigh*. Thanks again

Kari,

I wish I could take them, but I am full to capacity at this time.

I did want to make a suggestion. If we don't have any members that are close enough to take them, try contacting a local bird club. You should be able to find someone there, or they will know of someone who will give them a good home. I am so happy to hear that is your main concern. I hate that you have to give them up, but knowing they will go to someone who will love and care for them will help.

I hope you find someone soon. Please let us know how it's going.

Kari, what a shame. I am so surprised and sad that you will not be keeping them. How did this change of events happen?

ok here is the short story....we can only rent a house cause we dont have the money to buy a house. Finding houses to rent in Sheridan is hard really hard. We had no choice but to go for "no pet" houses. We finally found a house and we tried talking to the landlord about my pets. He said no to all of them. He said that because the house is a duplex and my room would be against the wall that he wouldnt allow my pets because of the noice level. My mom did say however that in a year or so when we will have enough money to buy a house I can get another lovebird or 2. I havent decieded yet. We have some people up here that do housekeeping and they seemed kinda interested in the birds Ive already shown bart and the newbie to them so i dont know. My mom did say that I cant give the cages away with the birds and that the large one is $60 and the smaller temporary one the newbie is in for $30(but I might lower the price for the smaller one). The cages come with some toys(I dont have many) and everything. Nobody I know seems to want them:( I still have hope that they will find a good home soon.

Kari,

Along with contacting a Bird CLub, try calling local vet offices to see if they have a bulletin board to sell/rehome pets. Even if they are not avian vets. I know a lot of them here do. They might even know of a breeder who might can take them or even one of their employees. It's worth a shot. Good Luck! :2cents:

Update: my dad is going to try to talk to the landlord agian because of the trouble that we have been having finding the lovies homes. If not I have a family that will take the newbie but they dont want bart because he bites. I would hate to separate them after they have been so close to putting the newbie in bart's cage. But if I have to I guess there is no way around it. I will post another update once I find out more information.

P.S. I have guinea pig babies I am also giving way. They come with some food and you have to provide your own cage.

Kari: Good Luck. I hope your dad can work on the landlord so you can keep your lovies. I also wanted to voice that your younger lovie may not bite now, but will likely bite at some point, especially if he/she is young. Be forewarned and let the family know that if it comes to you having to give your lovies up.

Thanks for the update

Kari,
If the main issue is noise because the lovebirds would be in your room, would it be possible to locate their cage somewhere else so the noise would not be heard by your neighbors on the other side of the wall?

Hello, Kari -

I know you are moving to Sheridan, but where are you at currently. I ask because I live in Salt Lake, and if you are anywhere near me, I may be able to help - and I am on vacation starting Saturday, Aug. 5th, so a road trip might be a possibility if you are in Southwestern Wyoming.

Let me know, please -

Eric

Yes we could move them and set them up in the living room. I think that is what my dad is trying to convince the landlord. He wont tell me anything and my mom doesnt know that he is trying to do this so I dont know much of anything.

We will offically be moved in on the 4th of this month in Sheridan. I will hopefully know by tonight if I can keep the birds. Im still waiting. Right now as we speak I live at The Big Horn Mountain Lodge. If I cant keep them my dad or my mom and I could possibly meet you some where. One of the owners of the lodge lives near Salt Lake and I think the drive is around 8 hours to come directly here. I will post more late tonight when my parents get home.

I don't think anyone could be mad, there are so many birds out there and its sad when someone has to give them up! I'm glad you and your family could fight for them and that everything worked out!

Good luck and keep safe!
