Hi All,
As some of you know I was planning on adopting 2 rescue birds but after a week, without word, I decided to buy two through a breeder. I had to drive 3 hours one way but they are worth it. They are so tame, when I got there and was given the bird to hold, they immediately began to cuddle and then later rode on my shoulders as I walked around admiring the aviary. I got them home and cuddled for about 5 minutes each and then put them in their cage, I figure they had a tough day. They almost immediately played with their toys and then discovered the cucumber and brocolli I put out for them.
thanks for all the support, I posted 2 pics they aren't great but they had a tough day and I didn't want to scare them

YIPPEE and CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so excited for you. :D Bringing in two at the same time really is so much easier on them and my two never seemed one bit scared or lonely. I think it was such a comfort to them to come as a pair. So glad to hear they are adjusting well. Now I'm off to find those photos! :D

Congrats on the new babies! They both look very nice!
The Green Peachie is showing full adult coloring so s/he is at least 5-6 months old. The younger one does not have the dark splotch on h/his beak but the beak is not horn colored so I'm guessing this one is 13-14 weeks old. Do you have them together in one cage or are they housed separately? Did the breeder have them housed together?

Linda, glad you had a look. I thought the normal peachie looked to have his/her adult colors, too, but I'm glad you could answer that. I also wondered if they'd been caged together at the breeders.

If they've been caged together before and got along fine, then hopefully they will continue to. Do you know how long the younger one, hatched 5-13, had been in the cage with the older one?

no I am not sure, the breeder says they all get along, Today I noticed a little squabbling but it was more the baby instigating the argument. I have a small flight cage just in case it escalates

David, my two also squabble occasionally but no biting or blood so I take it as a normal relationship with ups and downs. Oddly enough, I have a threesome and my "bonded" pair, the brothers, both seem to like him better than each other sometimes. But, he likes ME best all the time! :D BTW, I do not cage all three together, just the two of them together and Oliver has his own cage. I would never push it that far but they do get along well when all three are out.
