.. who can safely say they've never gotten a real bite?
I've lucked out and can say ( knock on wood ) that all my bites were never serious, love nibbles compared to some of the scary bite stories posted here.
But... I've only ever owned male lovebirds. Nesty females scare me. :omg:

Let's say a real bite is one that brusies, breaks skin and bleeds?
And... in hind sight, did you see it coming??? :lol

Awwwwww, yes. The love of a Cuddlybunny always leaves the skin purple and bleeding. That's why I call her "The Cuddler." She stunning in appearance but not cuddly, she's sinister8o 8o .

The worst bites I get are from Cookie (meyer's) and Mijo (CAG), but the worst lovebirdy bites I get are usually when I try and break up a fight:eek:  . Better my flesh than another lovies' jugular:x :x .

I love nesty hens. They are honoreable and steadfast in their need to protect their nest. My favorite game is to put my hand right in the cage or nestbox and tell them they are good mammas when they bite the C**p out of me:x .

ahhh yes in the three weeks since I've had my blue bundle of joy he has introduced me to "real bites" to many times to count. everyone is amazed at the pain he can inflict. lol he made my dad squeel a big 176 pound 6 ft man use to the abuse of construction on his hands. Coopers bites do seem to be lessening in their intensity. he hasn't drawn blood on me in about a week. lol although i do have bruises on me arms not sure if that's progress or not!

I can say that I've had a few bites but I've never had a bite from a bird that was mad at me. Just a curious bite and sometimes a little blood was drawn but that's OK. :D

So far Kermit has not bitten me, but Guido our Amazon at work tried to take a chunk out of me today. Apparantly he didn't want to come out and play today. He's sick right now so he's not his usual self, but it hurts! I think I'd MUCH rather be bitten by a lovie than an amazon.

Kameko can be a very nesty hen but one thing is that when it comes to her nest she really must think of me and my b/f as her mates because we can put our hands right in there (with her in it even) and touch and move the eggs without a single complaint. We get in trouble for ringing her bell where she will charge and bite (if necessary) but her nest is our nest too i guess .
Kameko generally only bites if she is scared, mad, or very hormonal. She has drawn blood for me when her toe nail got stuck on my shirt and i had to free her toe, that was painful. The worst was when she was a baby and latched on my nose, blood wasn't drawn but tears were >o. Kameko mainly threatens with a big open beak and an "I'm mad >:" squeak but doesn't usually do anything.

Olivia bites if what you're doing isn't what she wants you to do (sometimes it's hard to know  ) and it can be bloody. She can be an angel in a second. Daisy thinks she bites  Molly can bite - hard sometimes and Piper, like Daisy, pretends to bite.

No, nothing that ever left a mark or drew blood. Some of the little pinches to my ear and the skin on my neck hurt a lot, though. Once Bubble attacked my thumb and wouldn't let go, but even that (painful though it was) didn't do any real damage.

Thank goodnes for non-nesty hens. If I had 2 that bit me I would feel completely ganged up on.

Weesy, my dear Weesy is the queen of blood drawing biters! No finger, forearm, ear, neck or lip is safe or any exposed body part (yikes!) is safe. Nasty and nesty, she's a fantastic mother and devoted to hen-pecking her mate George. We also have Patches, a Pied Seagreen hen who is coming in a close second to Weesy as of late. F-n-B, can also put a good bite on you, but the one that really cracks me up is Phoebe. Phoebe is a BIG hen and can bite pretty hard, but is not mean. She recently got a new mate (her old mate was retired) and she thought she'd show him how tough she could be when I stuck my hand in the cage. She fluffed, clicked and lunged. I said "step up" and right onto my finger she went! So much for big tough hens.
