I barely get bit anymore (I probably just jinxed it). So I must be really quick or I'm interpreting warning signs that I'm not aware I'm interpreting.

I know that when they make that rrnnt! noise they're either content or angry. It's pretty easy to tell which is which.

I know that charging is angry. And I swear I can see them get these evil little faces with narrowed eyes and everything when they're angry.

But I'd like to know what are the warning signs so I can back off or avoid bites.

Sounds like you are already reading the most important signs.
Lovebirds train us more quickly than we can train them.

Raised feathers at on the back of the neck means an angry bird.

Hi, I have one female that is a little nippy. When she nips, I take her away from the other birds and have a little chat with her. I let her know that I do not like her doing that. This seems to work for a week or so.
