Hi Linda, Barb, etc... I'm the squirrel lady in Virginia  if ya'll remember me?
Anyway, I posted a note about finding new homes for Small and Little Mister on the community bulletin board but wanted to say Hi! here, in a more visible way! Glad to see familiar "type-faces" again :)

:happy:Hi Tracey, I sure do remember you. :) Nice to see you again! You had better bookmark this site so you can come back. We moved boards before the big EZ Board crash, and are we ever glad we did!
Hope all is going well -- maybe when you're feeling up to it, you can tell us about what happened to Little Mister's mate. Sounds like it's a little too tender right now.
TTYL, :)

Hi Tracey :)
Looks like we might have been almost neighbors if we hadn't moved across the country to Oregon. We used to be in Lexington, VA. Glad to have you here, and hope you're able to find good homes for your two birdies...
see you around the board....

Sorry Barb, I didn't mean to give the impression it was just yesterday...
I posted on the old board about it a year or so ago. Little Miss inhaled a seed somehow and got it stuck... she got an upper respiratory infection and she died from it. I took her to the vet, but too late. He gave me a prescription to ease the irritation but she died in my lap on the way home. I was very sad at the time, but I've healed now... and I just don't feel up to finding him a mate and doing the whole breeding thing anymore.
If you remember Little Miss and Little Mister were the pair that had several clutches of DIS chicks before I figured out that Little Mister's babies were too big for Little Miss' eggs or some such... so finally I had to assist in the last hatch, allowing 3 of the 5 eggs to hatch successfully. and THAT... is where "Small" came from (as in -- Large baby, Medium baby and Small baby :) )
Now, Small has proven herself to be female -- several clutches of "blanks" over the last year. AND... she's been making eyes at Little MISTER but he's her DADDY (!) for criminee sake and I know enough to know not to allow THAT so... They each need a mate... and that's why I am putting them up for adoption. Sweetie considers me to be her mate but the others need birdie friends.
So let me know if you know anyone looking for breeder birds in the central valley (yes very close to Lexington :) ) They are nice healthy little birds, just wild and mean as they sorta need to be to be good protective parents... I don't mean mean EVIL or anything... their eyes don't glow red with the music from exorcist in the background... :) but if you try to put your hand near or in the cage (and you'd like to keep your skin attached) move quickly, stay alert and WATCH OUT.
Ugh, sorry for the novella :)
