(well it's sometime this week, i don't know the exact day)
dear obie,
i can't believe you are one year old already. i remember clearly the first moment i saw you, when you were only 4 weeks old and absolutely charming. i knew a GCC was the bird for me the first time you looked me in the eye. it was those eyes, that connection, that just grew and grew over the next few months. then, when the hard times came, you were my rock. i couldn't have made it through those dark days without you. you always knew exactly how to respond to what i needed, and were the best kind of friend.
now you are in utah with eric and his flock and i know you are doing just grand. you have made new friends and remembered what it's like to be a bird. you have left a huge hole in my heart, and even though i walk my dad's dog daily and talk to our cat, it's just not the same. i pray that someday soon we can be together again, and that you will be as happy with me as you are with your new friends in utah. i know they love you very much.
