    Default Strange tongue habit

There's a little lovebird that has a strange tongue habit. He's been doing it since the owner got him. Here's a video clip of Charlie doing it...you might have to scroll down a bit to see he clip...

Does anyone know why he does this?

I don't think there's any particular reason that Charlie chooses to places his tongue as he does. It appears that he does it right before he grinds his beak and I believe many parrots move their tongues when grinding beaks. I really think it's just something that Charlie does. Strange but cute!

My guys never stick their tongue out the side like that but if you watch close you can see them lick the inside of their beak when they grind. You have to look quick because they move it fast. Ditto did it too.

Grind grind, lick, grind grind, lick.
