Default Bird hates me all of a sudden help!

Hello, My lovie was my best pal since august when i got him or her. But this last week he actaully runs from me and when I do get him he either hangs out by my computer mouse and puts his wings up when I try grabbing him, by my hair, or he runs really really fast you would think he was a fox. Then when I go to put him back he literally dives into his cage and crashes to the botom and runs into the corner. I did not hurt him or scare him in anyway why does he hate me?? I read up on sicknesses and they say tail bobbing is a sign he does that a little bit and stays by the feed cup a little bit but all his eating habirs and poop looks fine.. man he sure can run. Help me

Quote; Why has my bird begun to walk with his tail up? He is only 7 months old so there shouldn't be eggs if he's a she....the vet had no comment. And also he/she is ready to nest do I need to provide a spot even though the eggs aren't getting fertilized? ;unquote.

First, let me say this is my own perspective/wild guess on your situation so please bare with me here. I think your lovie may be associating your computer mouse or your head as a prospective mate. Regardless whether he's a she, removing them from what they may view as a mate is upsetting, especially when you interfere with a prospective consummation. When you place him back in his cage its possible he wasn't quite ready to go back in just yet. I think it would be more fair to say he's very confused about the whole ordeal more so that having thoughts of hating you. So now, he's all worked up (tail bobbing and all) while trying to figure things out resting up by his feed cup. If his tail bobbing subsides shortly afterwards, then he's probably fine. Should you notice his tail bobbing after he's been resting awhile he may have a respiratory problem and needs to be examined by a vet.

Your question about walking with his/her tail up sounds like what was previously described already as mating behavior. My question to you is, has your boy/girl laid any eggs yet? The reason I'm asking is because its difficult to tell by your wording. First, lets assume though you haven't found any yet. You can either invest in a DNA test to verify the gender or wait around and see if an egg shows up. Keep in mind though, some females won't lay eggs for a good long time, so you may have to rely on nesty behavior which may fall short of anything discernible. Second, if you do have eggs, then you'll need to find ways to stop over production of them so as not to risk any health related issues that may follow. So my next question is, are you prepared should your lovie decide to lay a few eggs?.......... Sorry this is late but I hope this helps a little anyways.............
