With any luck, something will come back to haunt the man for cutting down the tree , simply because the birds are a "nuisance". Now that the tree is gone, hopefully his land will flood and wash right into the pacific.
Send those conures a little bit north to me...they can all come live with me.

If justice is served, they will find him in violation and it will cost him dearly. I sincerely hope this one hits him square in the wallet

It made me mad too I sure hope the city fines him for cutting the tree down since it is in a historic district. You can't do anything if you live in a district like that and it will serve him right!!

I am on the mailing list for PelicanMedia (Company who produced the film) and I got this email from Mark this week....

And finally, for those aware of the "trees and parrots" issue that has been in the media the last few days, the situation seems to be resolving. I do think things are going to work out. Thank you to the many people who have written in support. I'm sorry that it's impossible to respond to everyone.

If you'd like to send a contribution toward the enhancement and upkeep of "parrot habitat" in San Francisco, including the two cypress trees, there is a new fund that has just been set up at a local nonprofit land trust, so your donation is tax-deductible. Please make checks payable to and mail to:

    Northeast San Francisco Conservancy
    470 Columbus Avenue, #211
    San Francisco, CA 94133

Note that your contribution is for the "Wild Parrot Habitat Fund."

    Thanks,
    Mark Bittner
