    Hi all, my family has had a pet lovebird for about 4 years. he has a legband
    VLH 53 how do i decode this?

    If that's all that's on the band, VLS is the breeder code and 53 is simply the number of the band used to band your lovie. In other words, yours was the 53rd baby banded by this breeder.

    Band coding is pretty much standard across the globe but what I just gave you would be standard inside the U.S.

    You may be able to contact ALBS to see if this breeder is registered with them. I don't know if they will give out this information, but I would try.

    thx for the help guys... i'v looked all over the net but can't a legband code that starts with VLH. frustrating
